CMAC Delegation Visited Singapore and Issued the Joint Declaration on Providing Legal Services for Regional Economic Development

From January 31 to February 1, Mr. Ren Hongbin, President of China Council for the International Trade (CCPIT) and CCOIC, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Singapore. China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC) participated in the delegation and attended the Singapore-China Economic Partnership Conference 2024. Mr. Ren Hongbin, President of CCPIT, Ms. Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Trade and Industry & Culture, Community, and Youth, Mr. Lim Ming Yan, Chairman of Singapore Business Federation, and Mr. Zong Changqing, Public Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore attended the opening ceremony of the Conference and delivered speeches.

In the achievement announcement session, CMAC, Mediation Center of CCPIT, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), together with Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), Singapore International Mediation Center (SIMAC) , and Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC), jointly issued the Joint Declaration on Providing Legal Services for Regional Economic Development (“Joint Declaration”).

In the keynote speech session, Dr. Li Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC, delivered a speech in English on the topic of “The Role of Arbitration in Regional Economic Development”.

With the theme of “Connectivity: New Economic and Trade Opportunities”, the forum was co-organized by CCPIT and Singapore Business Federation, aiming to provide active support for Chinese and Singaporean enterprises to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and to promote the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to a new level, with a total of more than 200 Chinese and Singaporean business leaders attending the event.
